Upload of IR Codes into Global Database

I have set-top boxes and other equipment proprietary to Singapore.

Having spent time to program these into the RE, how can I upload into a global database of RE IR codes that my friends (with RE) can download please?

In other words, can I contribute by uploading the IR codes into a global IR code database, helping others to use?  This goes a long way to make RE user-friendly and saves time for your customer to program for each new device.

Thanks -

Hi Mark,

We are working on that for a future release.  The first step which will be to transfer between two local devices so you will be able to transfer to a friend.  We're still investigating a global customer database for sharing in a more general way, but it is high on our priority list.

This is a great idea, I thought of it too. One caveat is that users desiring to share their codes, should be reminded to make accurate entry of manufacturer and model numbers as well as button nomenclature. Mispellings and typos will cause problems down the road.

Great product, I love it.Laugh

Thanks! Yes, accuracy and validation will be important to make this work well. We will need to have a review process either by users or by our support team as a part of the solution.

V2.0 supports the upload of user designed remotes. Let us know at support@newkinetix.com if you have a custom learned remote that you would like to share.
