In creating activity remotes, it assumes you will only e dealing with one menu system at a time. In reality, I might want to be able to bring up EITHER the cable menu, or the TV settings menu all from the same remote. No way to do that. I even tried renaming the TV menu button on it's remote then copying it to the cable remote, but then both menu buttons just bring up the cable menu.

Hi,
You are correct that the primary use model is that one menu system is active at a time. However, you can have multiple device menus in an Activity remote. You cannot combine multiple devices like a TV and a cable box in a device remote because the IR Codes will not transfer. (the exception is learned buttons from any device remote can be copied to another device and still control the original device).

To setup an Activity remote with the menu buttons from the TV and the cable box do the following:
1. First set up one the primary Menu button set using the Activity setup (or copy/paste etc.)
2. Add the 2nd set of Menu buttons from the other device. The button names for the 2nd set of buttons must be unique in the activity remote. You can just copy and paste from the device remote if the names are unique. If the name to be copied isn't unique, you can either change its name to one that doesn't conflict in the activity remote then copy/paste, or create a new unique named button in the activity remote and copy/past the device button onto the new button, or use the macro edit function to select the button from the device button list.
