As I understand it now, the longest keypress that is able to be sent is 1 second. I'd like to extend this to at least 2 seconds, the usage for me would be my AppleTV2 running XBMC, where a long duration press of the menu button brings up a info menu (whereas a short press is usually used to go back in menues).
I've tried to add a macro with two menu button presses of 1 second each, but this registers as two "back" presses, not one long continuous press.
(Btw, new user and am loving the Re, and also the user support in the forum. Thanks a lot!)
Cheers,

Hi Art,
Is this only an issue when the button is in a multi-step Macro? Does the menu button work correctly in the Re device remote if you press and hold? Also, does it work as a single button macro in an activity when you press and hold? If the answers to these questions are all yes, a longer transmit time should work. Can I replicate this on my AppleTV2 with the Re AppleTV remote or is this an XBMC function?

No, the issue is present in all cases, it seems as no matter what it registers as just the "back"/menu function. Unfortunately I don't think the long press is used in the original AppleTV2 software, though I really recommend you to jailbreak and install XBMC as it is a fabulous program :-)
Here is some more info regarding the ATV2 remote in regards to XBMC: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php…..ple_Remote .. Even better still would of course be adding a XBMC remote code page such as this http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php….._Hex_Codes
(If I have the time I might try to convert these codes into Winsamp format, send them from my thinkpad IR port and record them using my Re .. but íf there's a quicker way for you as a developer to add them it'd be great. :) )

Art

Hi Art,
Our IR Code expert is doing some analysis of the information you sent, and will get back to you to talk about how we might provide something useful to XBMC users.
Also, I tried the Menu function on my AppleTV2 to see how it worked. I found the following:
A short press backs one step and a press hand hold returns to the top of the menu in both devices and activities on the Re. This is the same functionality as on the original AppleTV2 remote. I created a "Top Menu" button in activities with a macro with a 1 second transmit time attached to the AppleTV Menu button, and it functioned the same as the press and hold.

Hi again, and thanks for the reply.
I tried the same things you have outlined above and it works the same for me using the ATV2 remote (hold menu: back to top menu). However, I can not get the Re to do the same, and I've tried both holding firmly on the button (recorded from the remote) and also adding a macro with 1s transmit time.
Very strange. I guess the problem is then not that I need the longer transmit time, but that something is not working correctly as it is now.
(I'm using Re on a 3rd gen iPod Touch bt,w. I might be able to try it on an iPhone 4 next week to troubleshoot if it has something to do with the model?)

Hi Art,
I built a remote that has all 256 XBMC key codes. It is temporarily installed (it will be removed 10/10) here:
Brand: Verifica Type: VCR IR Code: 1250-1
Is this what you were requesting?
Best Regards,
Ron
