Hey,

I just got the Re today in the mail… really good device and a pretty good app! Love the Macro and Activities functions!!!
All this makes the Re really good… to make it amazing here are my thoughts:

Design a version where the Rē device is a case…. this way you wouldn't need to keep plugging and unplugging the device and possibly lose it, as well as not having to turn the iPhone or idevice upside down.

Another part of this design could be a battery in the case as well… add these two features with your good app would be a Home-Run!

There are a few devices out there "Surc" (has a case, no battery) and Fastmac's IV+ (iv plus) which also has the battery but they have postponed R&D on the iphone versions… only ipod touch is out.

Would love to hear from Newkintetix's thoughts on the ir+case+battery idea!

Thanks,

For me I like this device for it's portability and the fact that you don't need a receiver for it to work so you can use it anywhere as long as you find the right codes… however I would like to see a menu system for common devices so you can pick by brand and model number so you don't have to "try" every code under the brand name. I even tried to search online and just decided it was easier to try codes… but if there was a menu where you could select your device how cool would that be?!

I use some other apps through wifi like controlling my computer (Mobile Mouse) and a few that work with VLC (one streams video to your idevice – vlcstreamer ) one controls vlc (Mobile Mouse also can do this but not as advanced)… also there's "Remote" for iTunes, can control iTunes on your computer as long as your connected to the network.

p.s. This is my second day with the Rē and it's still great… a few updates with the software to add some more user flexibility and it will be amazing!

Thanks,

We would like to have the selection by model number as well, however, that data is not provided in a customer available tool by our database supplier. They hold that information confidential, and haven't yet provided us access.

I think that an add-on case could be economically feasible for most of us if we can securely lock the dongle we already have into it. Also, a way to plug in the recharging cable could be a cheaper alternative to batteries.
